Pope has Hi-T in Cofton Park

Entertee  Hire are proud to be part of the first papal visit to Britain since 1982.

Pope Benedict XVI will visit England and Scotland from 16-19 September 2010. It will be the first papal visit to Britain in nearly two decades, when Pope John Paul II’s six-day tour drew huge crowds. This is the first official state visit by a pontiff, following an official invitation by the UK government.

Pope Benedict XVI will fly to Scotland where he will celebrate a public Mass at Bellahouston Park in Glasgow. In England, he will make a speech at Westminster Hall and take part in a service of Evening Prayer with the Archbishop of Canterbury.

The final day of the visit is in Birmingham and is focused very much on the beatification of Cardinal John Henry Newman, and the Pope will celebrate in Cofton Park in Birmingham, adjacent to the place where Cardinal Newman was buried.

Entertee Hire will provide over 3,000m of 3.4m High T Shield at Cofton Park in Birmingham. This puts the Pope’s visit on an equal footing fence-wise with some of the largest music festivals in the UK.

“The challenges are numerous with large City Centre locations such as this one. Including load-in and out with the trucks and it being a public venue rather than a private green space like a music festival, but the crew are well versed at overcoming these challenges.” Said Reece Tee, Entertee Hire founder.

The build for Pope’s visit starts at the end of August and the fencing will remain in place for one month.

Tee continued; “We’re very excited about being involved in this once-in-a-lifetime event, and its the perfect close to a very busy Summer season for us.”
